Plains Raising Co.
Dads, kids, dogs, and public land

Why We Started Plains Raising Co.

Plains Raising Co. started with a pretty simple idea: we wanted to make it easier for everyday families to get outside and hunt.

At the heart of it, we're two dads from the plains who love hunting, camping, working dogs, and just about anything that gives us an excuse to be outside — with a few awesome friends who join us on the adventures from time to time.

From chasing birds behind good dogs to sitting in a deer stand, heading west for big game, or packing up for a hunt somewhere completely new, we just love the experiences that come with being outdoors.

And we want our kids to grow up with them too — the early mornings, long walks, muddy boots, camp meals, good dogs, missed opportunities, successful hunts, and the stories that come from all of it.

But getting into hunting — or trying something new — can feel overwhelming. Where do you start? What gear do you actually need? How do you find places to hunt? How do you plan a trip without spending a fortune?

That's why we started Plains Raising Co.

We're not experts pretending to have it all figured out. We're regular dads doing it ourselves. We hunt private and public ground, chase birds and big game, plan DIY trips, work with our dogs, make mistakes, and learn something new almost every time we go.

We want to share the whole process — the preparation, successes, screwups, people we meet, places we go, and lessons we learn along the way.

Because at the end of the day, hunting is about a lot more than what you bring home.

It's about wild places, good dogs, conservation, friendships, family, and raising the next generation to appreciate all of it.

Built on tradition. Raised on the plains.
